EB-24M Dugan
American Air Museum
Duxford, UK

B-24

This is an EB-24M Liberator on display at the US Air Force History and Traditions Museum on the grounds of Lackland AFB in San Antonio, Texas. The EB-24M is a late production B-24. It was adapted to a research role after the war. Its last assignment was ice research, where it was believed to be the last B-24 in USAF service when retired in 1956. The aircraft was displayed on the parade grounds at Lackland AFB until 1999. At that time, it was moved to the new American Air Museum in Britain, where it went on display at the B-24M named Dugan. Its spot on the Lackland AFB parade grounds was filled with a fiberglass replica.
