Strategic Aerospace Museum Ashland, NE
XF-85 Goblin on display at the Strategic Air Command Museum located just
south of Omaha, Nebraska. The museum has since moved to a purpose-built
facility near Ashland, Nebraska, just off of Interstate I-80. The new
location allows the aircraft to be housed indoors and to be viewed year
around without worry of bad weather. The lower photo is of 1990 vintage.
The skyhook unfolds from the black area just in front of the windshield.
The upper photo is from the mid-1990s. The Goblin has a new coat of paint,
but does not yet have its tail number painted on. This view gives a good
look at the rudders and trim tabs on the rear of the vertical surfaces.
