Ventura Village
Ventura Village was created in 2002 from the northern section of the former Phillips neighborhood, plus a few blocks from Seward. Ventura Village is named after the Spanish word for luck, though some suggest that the name also refers to the popular Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura. The goal is to create an urban village similar to Greenwich Village, a goal that has taken major strides forward with the successful redevelopment of Franklin Avenue. |
