B-50

WB-50D on display at the US Air Force Museum, located on the grounds of historic Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio. This WB-50D started life as a strategic bomber. It was later converted to be a weather recon bird, hence the WB designation. It was used to observe many of the hydrogen bomb tests. This was the last WB-50D to retire in 1967, and it was delivered to the USAF Museum the following year. This aircraft sat outside for many years. It has recently been moved indoors and put on display in the Cold War Gallery.
