C-124A Globemaster II
Air Mobility Command Musuem
Dover, DE
C-124A Globemaster II on display at the Strategic Air Command Museum
when it was located in Belleview, Nebraska. The Strategic Air Command
was disbanded in the mid-90's, and the museum was moved to Ashland,
Nebraska into a purpose built building. At the time, the Strategic
Aerospace Museum decided not to move the C-124 and C-133 aircraft.
These aircraft were turned over to the Air Mobility Command Museum
in Dover, Delaware, adjacent to Dover AFB. The C-133 is largely
ready to go on display, but the C-124 is still mostly in pieces as
this was written in mid-2004.
