B-17G Heavens Above on display at the US Air Force History And Traditions Museum on the grounds of Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. Lackland is where new airmen (and airwomen) are inducted into the Air Force and receive their basic training. Numerous static display aircraft are stationed around the base, often with individual planes being cared for by troops who live in the nearby dormotories. Another group of historic aircraft are arranged around the perimiter of the parade grounds.
