B-24D Strawberry Bitch on display at the National Museum of the United States Air Force in Dayton, Ohio. This B-24D is painted pink as part of its desert camouflage for its operations in North Africa in WWII. This aircraft was built in San Diego, then delivered to Kansas to be assigned to a crew. From there, it was ferried to Europe, eventually joining the 9th Air Force in Cairo, Egypt.
