PB4Y-2 Tanker 125
Yankee Air Museum
Belleville, MI

B-24

PB4Y-2 on display at the Yankee Air Museum in Willow Run, Michigan. This is a former Hawkins & Powers water bomber. It suffered an accident, then was recovered and restored to display condition by the Yankee Air Force. This 1991 era photo shows the old YAF air museum building in the background. This building suffered a catastrophic fire in October of 2004. This was a huge loss since the museum had extensive collections of artifacts. The only savings grace in the event is that several brave museum members were able to brave the fire and pull the B-17, B-25, and DC-3 out of the hanger before it collapsed, saving the heart of their historic aircraft fleet.
